NEW FREEDOM GARDENERS INFORMATION

MISSION:

The New Freedom Community Gardeners have a mission to not only enhance the natural beauty of New Freedom, but considering the loss of natural habitat in the area, to provide native plants which will benefit the life cycle of many creatures including native birds, butterflies, beneficial insects and small animals.

GOALS:

To beautify New Freedom by:
  • Planting trees
  • Planting and maintaining flower beds
  • Enhancing and naturalizing public areas.

To use native plants and trees whenever possible.

To use environmentally safe products.

To educate the public about the benefits of preserving open space, protecting our natural environment and to show by example how these things can be done in our own back yard.

PROJECTS:

Plant and maintain trees, bushes and flowers along the Rail Trail in New Freedom.

Plant community pots in the Spring for the businesses and community organizations in New Freedom with assistance of Girl Scouts.  Decorate the pots in the Fall for Christmas.
